Most days, actually every day, there are activities going on at St Barnabas! There are support groups who have been relocated into the main Church space to allow effective social distancing. There are community groups who, slowly but surely, are returning in a safe way, and we have been pleased to welcome new groups for babies and children. Sadly, we are not yet able to run Toddlers under the current guidelines and and our hearts go out to parents and carers who gained support and company from our Tuesday and Thursday mornings. As soon as we can restart this, we will be sure to let you know.
As far as building work goes, we are making headway with the plans to level the floors throughout the St Barnabas’ complex, in order to make it accessible for all. There is a great deal of preparation already done and we are so looking forward to when we can get the go ahead to refurbish the Pastoral Centre, which we are tackling first. We have also been exploring new heating options and aim to manage our energy-efficiency as we enter into the colder months of the year.
As we turn our attention to dates on the calendar, such as All Souls, Remembrance, Advent and Christmas, we are not sure yet how we will mark these special occasions with so many restrictions. We will do our best and use our imagination and flexibility to adapt, so watch this space!
Blessings,
Sarah
